I can’t believe I’ve waited nearly a whole week to tell you about this.
Maybe it’s because I’m worried you’ll think I’m being arrogant, or because you won’t appreciate what it means and you’ll laugh.
I’m not going to think about that though. I’m going to pretend that no one will think anything bad and i’ll just get on with the story….
Thursday 11th March. Just another day, tweeting, writing, laughing, doing my shouty mother dance. I started seeing the links to March’s Tots 100* list and a few friends were jumping up and down excitedly with how they’d done.
I clicked the link to have a look.
As I scanned down I smiled to see lots of familiar names of blogs I read and enjoy. Further down some new entries in the hit parade, 78, 79, 80 – Battling On, 81… HANG ON! THAT’S ME!!!
Oh yes *stir the pot dance* I’m new in at number 80- Get me! To say that I was mildly pleased would be akin to saying that #Glee is a touch cheesy….I’m morbidly delighted! Even more so because I don’t remember submitting my details, so it was a complete shock.
I know it’s hardly a platinum selling record, I didn’t invent a cure for cancer or do anything heroic, but it did feel really good.
Bummer is that since then I’ve moved URL and my views have fallen off a cliff, or maybe the views have fallen off a cliff because it all got really crap. Either way, I’m savouring this moment!
*For anyone who doesn’t know, the Tots 100 is the parent blogging equivalent of the Top100. It’s compiled by a very clever lady called Sally Whittle using magic and matchsticks and in certain circles it’s a pretty big deal.
