High excitement today at Battling On after it was revealed that I’ve been shortlisted for Most Inspirational MAD Blog in the MAD Blog Awards 2010. I’m there with 4 other bloggers, a couple of whom I know and respect enormously, and a couple more that are new to me and I’m sure I’m going to enjoy getting to know them better.
A massive thank you if you nominated me and helped me to get me this far – I’m genuinely surprised and bewildered, but also incredibly pleased. The next stage involves voting for your favourite blog in each category and there are some fabulous blogs to choose from. It’s going to be tough making some of the choices.

Apparently there’s going to be an awards ceremony, you know the form….the cameras are trained on all the nominees, chatting amongst themselves as if they’re barely listening to what’s going on over at the rostrum. Then the envelope opens, the name is called – it’s not them, so they smile graciously, nod politely, do that little half hand clap and throw back another magnum of champagne.
I’m voting for something different, a subtle change in proceedings – we all listen nervously, shushing anyone rustling or burping at the back, and when our name isn’t called, we sob loudly, demand a recount and charge the stage…..
In the likely event that I don’t win, I’ve been practising ‘the face’. It’s not quite there yet, call it a work-in-progress, but here’s a sneak preview:-

Haha! I think you may have to continue work on ‘the face’ as in this it looks a little like..well..ahem..*cough* how to say this politely, your ‘sex face’. Not that I’ve seen that before I hasten to add, on you I mean, this is not going well is it?..erm..ok..I’ll leave now…

And if that’s the sort of face that’s going to be appearing at the awards ceremony then I too am SO UP for charging the stage.
