There seems to be an age cut off point, beneath which the word ‘melon’ is impossible to pronounce.  In our house we have lemons for melons, something that always makes me laugh.  Funnier still was the fact that I was recently able to convince all three of my kids that the two melons sitting on the worktop had DEFINITELY been lemons the night before…. well, I laughed.

I’ve chosen this picture for today’s Gallery.  The theme is ‘A smile’ and although the quality of this one is frankly rubbish, I love it. It captures a miracle moment when every member of my family is eating fruit, and more or less enjoying it,  and conveniently the computer was on the dining table (we were moving into the new office) so we used Photo Booth to take it.  Lighting and composition – appalling, joy factor – off the scale.

If you haven’t checked out Tara’s Gallery before, do take a minute to.  There are some brilliant photographers and wordsmiths out there…I can’t think of many better ways to while away an hour or two.

You say lemon, I say melon….

Crisps used to be called Christmasses in this house, which is fair enough as crisps are almost as exciting as Christmas. I don’t understand why your children will eat melon and not cherries. It’s very strange.

LOL what a great picture. We tend to eat melon balls at Up North towers (other parts of the melon can be eaten too).

    Boom boom etc.
