Hola!

It can be a bind, this blogging nonsense. The constant pressure to perform, to churn out quality content day in, day out. The bloggers’ bitching contests to engage with, the lists, the PR requests, the ‘she said, she said’ mountain of insecurity. To do all of that, and still keep enough venom in reserve to worship daily at the alter of The Church of Liz Jones Hatred?

*Phew* that’s tough going…

Luckily for us all, I long since, and unapologetically, cast off the mantle. I still read blogs when I get the chance (and they spark my interest) and I sometimes comment. I’m still about on twitter and always willing to exchange a bit of mindless banter with anyone who’ll listen.  And that’s enough for me.

So, you might ask, what are you doing back here now? (Obviously you won’t ask that – I’ve checked my stats, I know you’re not there)

Well, in the sense that a blog is a journal of sorts, I’m here to post my (ir)regular update in the form of a list (because it’s quick and easy). So this is what I’ve been up to:

1. Social Commerce – aka WeShop In the Powder Room – An online shop run by Product Champions promoting products they love. I’m a PC for the fabulous Victoria (@vwallop) who makes exceptional jewellery and for Pixie Dixie who make brilliant pyjamas that your kids can draw all over. No, really. Check it out here.

2. After years of writing and editing digital content, I’ve edited my first book, and managed the process to get it (self) published, printed and into the hands of actual, paying customers. Working with ridiculously talented folk has been a complete pleasure and I’m unbelievably proud of what we’ve produced. Take a closer look here. WARNING – It’s about fishing, just so you know…

3. In more blogging related news, I won two pairs of Hunter wellies courtesy of Tara and Jakes’ Shoes. They’ve already been stolen – see pic

4. I’m still trying to knit. I’d like to say I’m halfway through a pair of fingerless gloves for the Boy Wonder. I’m not.

5. *grinds to a halt* No, that’s it…..

    Hola! *waves*
I know just how you feel. In the last couple of months, I’ve ceased being a slave to the blog and trying to keep up with all of the social shenanigans that go with it.
Instead, I’m focusing on “real life” and writing about it when the mood takes me.
And reading blogs for no other reason than the fact I want to.
Enthralled by your book (are there at least hunky men who go fishing?), and will check out your shop.
