Thanks to Josie at Sleep is for the Weak for the tag in this meme – still convinced it’s pronounced ‘meem’, but we can argue about that later! The meme originates from Rosie Scribble and the rules of Rosie’s Shiny Happy People meme are:

#1: Name a song that makes you happy – a song you would listen to if you needed a sudden injection of happiness.

#2: Post an image that makes you smile, it can be anything – a silly photo, an image taken from the internet, anything at all that puts a smile on your face (and isn’t too rude!)

So, onto mine and it’s not easy, I spent most of the day yesterday thinking about songs of my early adulthood and remembering their impact for different reasons and it’s just sooo hard to narrow this down.  But if I must:

My OH is a DJ, this is him:

OK, I’ve revelled in the Zoe Ball lifestyle for a nanosecond.  My OH is a DJ… in his spare time, which isn’t much. In real life he sells commercial print, but his real passion is music so every now and again he and a fellow anorak get together and put on a disco, and we all go and we all dance and life is good…

I dance at these discos… I have to – it’s my wifely duty.  I’m not generally an exhibitionist but there’s one song guaranteed to send me spiralling into a world of funny accents and psychedelic jumpsuits:-

[youtube=]  (play it LOUD!)

I know it’s really old now, but when the bass is notched right up on this you HAVE to dance and when you’re dancing you HAVE to smile – dancers are all shiny happy people!

Onto my fave pic – I don’t have a scanner, and I broke my mum & dad’s so I can’t borrow theirs which limits my options.  But really I would have chosen this one anyway….

It’s a real ‘caught in action’ shot – a bit blurred but captures the essence of my complex middle child.  Wellies on the wrong feet in her urgency to get out and play, she was just too busy to stop and pose.  It always cheers me up and helps me remember that she’s gorgeous – even when she’s driving me crazy!

So that’s me, now it’s your turn, (if you choose to take part).  I tag:-

Crystal Jigsaw

and Queen Eileen as a late entrant because I only just found out she has a blog…

Have fun!

    Gorgeous pictures, i love those ‘action’ shots, they always capture children much better than the posed kind. and great song choice, am bopping around my kitchen much to the amusement of my daughter and her friend.

    Totally gorgeous picture and very typically wellies on wrong feet little girly!! Not sure about the song!!!! But thanks for the tag, I know exactly which song I shall chose but I don’t know what it’s called so I’ll have to do some fishing before I post it. It’s from that Barclaycard advert where that bloke slides along the water tunnel thingy. Gets me smiling every time.

    Me too MM, only problem is we’ve since lost one of them and I’ve kept the other in the forlorn hope that it might a) still turn up and b) it will be in time to fit DS2 who loves the solitary wellie (they’re Fifi!)

    Thanks for visiting!
