Look!!!!
I’ve won an award! It’s my first and I’ve come over all Gwyneth…. *sob*. This lovely award comes courtesy of Solveig over at Little Pong and Make Do Mum… two nominations, I am completely beside myself *swaps for an empty bucket*. Now, I’ve been off the radar for the last 48 hours and in that time I’m pretty sure that the sunshine award has probably encircled the entire community, threatening to cut off the circulation for some. But, what I am not going to do is acknowledge the fact that nominating 12 bloggers can get a bit tough and at the last count most regular bloggers were ducking at the very mention of the sunshine award, no siree!
So first, I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you. When I first started blogging, I blundered in without any real clue of what it all meant. Recently it feels like there’s been a bit of turbulence and questioning of what it means to be part of ‘the blogging community’. I’m not going to go back over old ground here: there’s been some excellent posts written that will hopefully help new bloggers and old consider what, if any, responsibility they have to each other and to their readers. But this kind of award giving highlights a really lovely side of it all. An acknowledgment that people stop by and read occasionally, and that sometimes they might like, be moved or occasionally amused by what they see, and for that reason I’m really grateful.
This is what ‘sunshine award’ recipients are supposed to do:
- Put the Logo on your sidebar, or within a post. (or both)
- Pay it forward – nominate 12 bloggers (or less, I guess)
- Link the nominees within your post
- Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blog
- Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award
So, without further ado, here are my nominations. Some are prolific, others occasional bloggers, but all have been chosen because I love their use of language, their honesty and the genuine tone that they write with:
- Chic Mama
- Crystal Jigsaw
- Autism, The King & I
- Typecast
- Marathon Mummy
- The Blog Up North
- Strawberries and Whine
- The Moiderer
- Brit in Bosnia
- Notes from Lapland
- Stuff and Things
- Claire’s Brussels Blog
Ooohhh thank you. From someone who I appreciate as both a blogger and a friend this actually means more than it (probably) should. And I NEVER shirk away from awards. Oh no! They make me feel *very* important.
I’m building up quite a collection of these – so I hope I don’t have to pass it on 12 times for each one *gulp*.
I’m passing mine on later this week so I’ll let you know when.
Thank you:) I know some of the blogs you listed but looking forward to reading the others now 🙂 Jen.
Wow. I am truly honoured. (and yes, oh enthusiastic Safari spellcheck, I do want to spell that with a U. We are not all Americans, you know.) My first writing award. Thanks so much for nominating me! Am coming over all Gwyneth myself.
Love that you enjoy my writing!
Will do all the things I am meant to do very soon 🙂 (All the things related to this, I mean. Not things like hoovering and tidying my study.)
THank you! I can’t tell you how much I need some sunshine in my life at the moment – ’tis grey, snowy, icy and down right miserable out there – has been for weeks, forcast… more of the same. Bring on spring, and shiny pretty flowers! x
Oh, and a moment of unknown efficiency I’ve passed this award on, but am awarding you another one in the same post – a cake one. Sunshine and cake together – how good is that! So come and collect it when you have a chance. x
Wow, thank you, am really honoured! Will celebrate with a post later today ;o)
ooh, a bit of sunshine is always nice, thank you!
Thank you again so much, people are ducking this award? Why…. it is such a pretty one.
Thanks again. :0)) xx
Thanks everyone, hope you don’t find it too long winded! x
Nic- that’s a lovely thing to say and completely reciprocated, TYx
Claire- much better use of your time… who wants to hoover?! x
Brit in Bosnia- thanks for my cake! Will blog about that one later x
Chic- not really ducking, just that it takes an age to link everyone up to the post!x
Thank you for my lovely flowery award! I’m off to find some blu-tack to stick it up.
Cheers lovely! I have no idea how to attach it to anything I own but knowing that I’ve got it has really cheered me up 🙂
